Ghanaian entertainment pundit and artiste manager Kwesi Ernest has praised Wendy Shay for her resilience in the music industry, saying her hard work and perseverance make her a top contender for Artiste of the Year at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
Speaking on Onua Show Time, Kwesi Ernest highlighted the challenges Wendy Shay has faced, including criticism and trolling on social media, comparing her experience to that of the late Ebony Reigns.
“Despite being trolled and bullied online, Wendy Shay has remained strong and continued to grow in her music career,” he said.
Kwesi Ernest pointed to her achievements between 2025 and 2026, noting that her songs have become widely recognized and even popular among children. He emphasized that her dedication, effort, and financial investment in her craft warrant recognition across multiple award categories.
“I’m telling the TGMA board that this year’s Artiste of the Year award should go to her. She has put in the work and deserves every nomination possible,” he stated.
Looking beyond Ghana, Kwesi Ernest expressed confidence in Wendy Shay’s potential to succeed internationally, suggesting her trajectory could eventually earn her a BET Award.
“I’ve seen her growth, and I’m very proud. Her commitment could open doors on the global stage,” he added.
With this endorsement, Wendy Shay’s chances at the 2026 TGMAs appear stronger than ever, as fans and industry insiders await the nominations.
