Ghanaian singer MzVee has set the record straight on speculation about her love life, insisting that her relationships with fellow musicians Kofi Kinaata and Mugeez of R2Bees are strictly platonic.
The singer, speaking during a TikTok Live session, expressed surprise at rumours linking her romantically to Kofi Kinaata, stressing that their association was built on professional respect and friendship.
“I don’t know where they started from. Why do I need to marry Kofi Kinaata? I think he’s married. Kofi Kinaata and I are friends, great colleagues. We talk once in a blue moon, and we have great respect for each other, but we are NOT dating,” she said.
MzVee praised Kofi Kinaata’s musical abilities, describing him as an amazing artiste and reiterating that there was no romantic relationship between them.
She also addressed similar speculation involving Mugeez, describing the R2Bees musician as a respected figure in the music industry and a friend with whom she shares a musical connection.
“Mugeez is legendary. Another very respected artiste, I respect him very much; he’s my friend. We’ve made music together, we do chat, but that’s where it ends,” she said.
The singer explained that their interactions were based on mutual respect and appreciation, rather than romantic involvement.
Responding humorously to fans who appeared hopeful that she would eventually date either musician, MzVee urged them to stop speculating about her personal relationships.
She also jokingly questioned whether Mugeez had a girlfriend, suggesting that fans should ask the musician himself about his relationship status.
MzVee rose to prominence as a member of the girl group D3 under Lynx Entertainment before launching her solo career in 2014.
She won the Unsung Artiste award at the 2014 Ghana Music Awards and was named New Artiste of the Year at the 2015 edition. In 2016, she received a nomination for a BET Award.
