Musician Cojo Rae has clarified that his social media interactions with dancer Lalli were intended to promote his music and should not be interpreted as evidence of a romantic relationship.
The artiste, born Raymond Agyapong, said Lalli’s decision to create dance videos using his songs provided publicity for his work, prompting him to share the videos on his own social media platforms.
Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi, Cojo Rae explained that he appreciated her dance moves and the attention she was bringing to his music, but maintained that their association was strictly professional.
“She liked my songs and danced with them, and I liked the way she danced and was promoting my song, so I was resharing it,” he said.
He dismissed suggestions that the interactions indicated they were dating, stressing that Lalli was simply supporting his musical career.
“I was not in a relationship with Lalli. She was supporting my music,” he stated.
His comments were intended to clarify the nature of their association and distinguish the online music-promotion activities from a personal romantic relationship.
