Nigerian comedienne and skit maker Real Warri Pikin has repaid a friend’s years of support with a brand-new car, saying the gesture was inspired by the kindness she received during one of the most difficult periods of her life.
The entertainer surprised her friend, Timi, after recalling how she stood by her and her family financially when they were struggling in 2018.
Real Warri Pikin said Timi went beyond offering emotional support, regularly sharing her salary with her and ensuring that she and her family had enough to get by.
“Timi is a good friend. I remember that time things were hard for me and my family in 2018, she would take me to her kitchen and say, ‘Anita, pack anything you want.’ Her salary would come in and she would still divide it into two,” she said.
According to her, Timi’s generosity continued despite her own financial limitations, demonstrating the depth of their friendship.
Real Warri Pikin recalled that Timi later reached out to her in tears after exhausting her finances and expressing frustration about her situation.
“One day, she called me and broke down in tears, crying that all her money was finished. ‘What type of life is this?’” she recalled.
The memory prompted Real Warri Pikin to find a way to support her friend in a significant manner.
She contacted her car dealer and arranged for a brand-new vehicle to be presented to Timi as a surprise.
“I had to instantly contact my plug to surprise her with a new car. I’m so happy I’m doing this,” she said.
The gesture has been described as Real Warri Pikin’s way of acknowledging Timi’s unwavering support during a period when she and her family were struggling.
The comedienne said she was particularly happy to have the opportunity to reciprocate the kindness her friend had shown her years earlier.
