Tema West Municipal Chief Executive Ludwig Teye Totimeh has unveiled a multi-pronged strategy to close a 10.7 percent revenue shortfall after the assembly mobilised just 20.9 percent of its GHC 38.9 million target in Q1.
Key interventions include rolling out additional revenue payment terminals in outlying communities and deploying advanced data‑gathering tools to ensure accurate tax records. These measures—coupled with intensified public education on property rates and local levies—aim to replicate last year’s 87.3 percent revenue achievement.
“We’re improving taxpayer convenience and transparency to drive compliance,” Totimeh explained, pledging that every cedi collected will fund visible development projects. Residents are encouraged to use the new kiosks and digital platforms to meet their local tax obligations and support the municipality’s service‑delivery goals.
