In a gesture aimed at improving operational efficiency, Mr. David Tamakloe, a presidential aspirant for the Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG), has donated a state-of-the-art laser printer to the Association’s Secretariat in Accra.
The donation comes after Mr. Tamakloe’s recent visit to PRINPAG’s headquarters for his vetting, during which he discovered that the Association’s sole printer was out of service. Staff had been facing considerable challenges, often trekking long distances to print essential documents—a situation that hampered daily activities.
Moved by this discovery, Mr. Tamakloe took it upon himself to provide the much-needed equipment to facilitate smoother administrative operations.
“I recognized the critical role that functional office equipment plays in the day-to-day running of PRINPAG,” he said at the handover ceremony. “Supporting this institution aligns with my commitment to fostering a vibrant and professional media landscape in Ghana.”
PRINPAG President, Mr. Edwin Arthur, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, stressing that the donation reflects genuine concern for the Association rather than any political motive.
“This contribution is a practical demonstration of solidarity within our media fraternity,” Mr. Arthur noted. “We hope this inspires other stakeholders to step forward and support PRINPAG’s mission to uphold press freedom and journalistic excellence.”
The new printer is expected to streamline the Association’s workflow, enabling staff to manage printing needs in-house and focus more on advancing the interests of private newspaper and online news publishers nationwide.
