Nollywood actress Georgina Onuoha has escalated her public disagreement with Senator Ned Nwoko by calling for greater transparency over what she describes as questions surrounding his past professional record in the United Kingdom.
In a social media post cited by MyNewsGh, Onuoha referenced an alleged disciplinary matter before the UK Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, claiming the case involved findings of professional misconduct and a financial penalty. She stressed that her comments were based on what she described as publicly available records, insisting they should not be dismissed as rumours.
The actress framed her comments as a response to what she perceives as Senator Nwoko’s public posture on moral and personal issues, particularly his criticisms directed at actress Regina Daniels. According to Onuoha, public figures who openly pass judgment on others should themselves be prepared to answer questions about their own past.
She questioned the basis on which Senator Nwoko, in her view, assumes moral authority while allegedly avoiding discussion of his professional standing, including why he is not licensed to practise law in England. Onuoha argued that Nigerians are entitled to scrutinise leaders and influential personalities who position themselves as arbiters of values and conduct.
Concluding her remarks, Onuoha challenged the senator to directly address the issues she raised, stating that public confidence is strengthened by openness and accountability. She maintained that the focus should remain on transparency, adding that “the public is watching” as the debate continues to unfold.
