The Ashaiman District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Joseph Orlando Adzokpa has carried out a decongestion exercise to restore order on major streets in the Ashaiman municipality as Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
The operation comes amid heavy congestion caused by traders occupying unauthorised spaces along key market routes, coupled with incidents of reckless motorcycle riding.
The exercise was necessary to ensure the free flow of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, particularly during the festive period.
The decongestion covered major stretches including the Ashaiman Traffic to Overhead enclave, Ashaiman Traffic to Lebene Junction, and Ashaiman Traffic to Kaketo Junction, where traders had taken over sections of the road.
The Police also clamped down on reckless motor riders as part of efforts to restore sanity and enhance public safety.
DSP Orlando assured residents of the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order, stressing that such exercises will be sustained to keep the streets safe and accessible.
