Concerns over security in Akatsi are mounting following yet another armed robbery attack that left four people injured and heightened fears among residents of the municipality.
The latest incident occurred at Elshadai Enterprise, a drinks distribution company located at Akatsi Tatorme, where six masked men reportedly stormed the premises on the evening of April 3.
According to police sources, the attackers, armed with guns, forced their way into the accounts section, shot a worker in the leg, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
In the course of their escape, the assailants fired indiscriminately, leaving three other individuals in the vicinity injured by stray bullets.
All four victims are currently receiving medical care at St. Anthony Hospital in Dzodze, while the critically injured worker has been transferred to the Ho Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
Eyewitnesses indicated that the suspects had earlier disguised themselves as mourners attending a funeral, raising concerns about the tactics being used by criminal groups in the area.
The incident follows a similar robbery attack earlier this year at another business establishment, intensifying anxiety over a possible pattern of targeted crimes within the municipality.
The Ghana Police Service has since appealed to the public for credible information to aid investigations, assuring residents of increased patrols as efforts continue to track down the perpetrators.
