A targeted intelligence-led operation by police in Tumu has resulted in the arrest of a man suspected to be at the centre of a string of violent crimes across the Sissala East Municipality.
The suspect, identified as Tall Moumouni, was picked up on April 21, 2026, following a tip-off that placed him in the Kong community with a group of associates.
According to Adusei Poku, officers acted swiftly on the intelligence, moving into the area at about 19:27 hours to carry out the arrest.
Police say Moumouni had been on their wanted list for some time, linked to multiple robbery incidents, theft, and a murder case reported in Wellembelle and Tumu.
The arrest is being seen as a significant step in ongoing efforts by the Tumu Divisional Police Command to dismantle criminal networks operating in the area.
Authorities have indicated that operations are continuing to identify and apprehend other suspects believed to be connected to the crimes.
The Police Command has meanwhile appealed to residents to support ongoing security efforts by volunteering credible information, stressing that community cooperation remains critical in sustaining law and order across the municipality.
