An 18-year-old suspect who allegedly evaded arrest for months in connection with a robbery incident at Koleman has been apprehended and remanded by the Amasaman Circuit Court.
The accused, Haruna Tahiru Mohammed, also known as “Star Boy,” is facing multiple charges including conspiracy, unlawful entry, stealing, and assault. He has pleaded not guilty and is expected to reappear in court on May 7, 2026.
His arrest follows the earlier conviction of his alleged accomplice, Liassidji Kofi Godwin, who is currently serving a 13-year prison sentence for his role in the same incident.
According to prosecution, the case stems from a November 2024 break-in at the residence of a businessman, during which the suspects allegedly took advantage of the absence of the homeowner and his wife to carry out the operation.
An elderly woman who was in the house at the time was reportedly restrained while the suspects searched the premises and made away with cash, electronic devices, and other valuables.
The suspects were also accused of targeting a neighbouring property, where additional cash was allegedly stolen before they fled the scene.
Residents later pursued the suspects, leading to the arrest of Godwin at the time, while Mohammed reportedly escaped and remained at large until his recent capture.
Police investigations led to the recovery of some stolen items, while others, including cash and a firearm, remain unaccounted for.
Authorities say Mohammed was eventually identified and arrested in April 2026 with the assistance of community members and handed over to police.
The case is still under investigation as prosecutors continue to gather evidence and track outstanding items linked to the incident.
