Professor Titus Beyuo has called on Ghanaians to recognize the differences in leadership styles between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), emphasizing John Dramani Mahama’s track record of integrity and efficient governance.
Speaking in an interview on GHOne TV, monitored by MyNewsGH, Prof. Beyuo commended the Mahama administration for effectively managing government operations with fewer ministers, despite criticisms from the opposition.
Addressing concerns about the size of government, he stated that the NDC administration has fewer ministers than previous governments, yet continues to function more efficiently.
“When we promised a lean government, critics argued it would mean an increase in appointees at the presidency. But data shows that despite having over 88 ministers, previous administrations still had more appointees at the presidency and vice president’s office than we do,” he explained.
Prof. Beyuo also praised the Finance Minister for finding alternative revenue sources without imposing excessive taxes on Ghanaians.
“They claimed the budget could not survive without certain taxes, but the Finance Minister’s team managed to reduce losses and generate revenue efficiently,” he noted.
Reiterating his confidence in Mahama’s leadership, Prof. Beyuo stressed that the former president has consistently delivered on his promises, reinforcing the belief that his commitment to governance remains unmatched.
