Students and staff of Volta Senior High School (VOLTASCO) at Dzita are set to benefit from improved learning conditions after the Member of Parliament for Anloga, Mr Richard Kwame Sefe, handed over a newly re-roofed classroom block to the school.
The project, completed in fulfilment of a promise made in April 2026, forms part of efforts to address infrastructure challenges facing senior high schools in the Anloga Constituency.
The facility had previously deteriorated to a state that raised concerns about safety and disrupted effective teaching and learning. Its refurbishment is expected to restore comfort and create a more suitable academic environment for students.
Speaking after the handover on Tuesday morning, Mr Sefe stressed the importance of sustained investment in education infrastructure, noting that improved facilities are key to better learning outcomes and youth development.
He also appealed to traditional leaders and residents of Dzita and surrounding communities to release additional land to enable future expansion of the school, citing rising student numbers and increasing pressure on existing facilities.
According to him, expanding the school’s infrastructure will allow for the construction of new classrooms, dormitories and administrative blocks to meet future demand.
Mr Sefe added that further works, including the replacement of windows and doors in the renovated block, are expected to be undertaken to fully upgrade the facility and enhance safety and comfort.
He described the intervention as part of a wider agenda to gradually transform educational infrastructure across the constituency, with a focus on creating a more enabling environment for students.
Stakeholders at VOLTASCO welcomed the project, describing it as timely and impactful, and endorsed the MP’s call for land acquisition to support the school’s long-term development.
Volta Senior High School, one of the key public SHSs in the Anloga District, continues to serve several surrounding communities and remains central to expanding access to secondary education in the area.
