Interest rates on Government of Ghana Treasury bills recorded a slight increase across all maturities in the latest auction conducted by the Bank of Ghana.
The 91-day Treasury bill rose to 5.87 percent from 5.73 percent in the previous auction, while the 182-day bill also inched up to 7.79 percent from 7.69 percent.
The 364-day instrument saw a similar upward adjustment, climbing to 12.93 percent from 12.82 percent, maintaining its position as the highest-yielding of the three securities.
According to the Bank of Ghana’s auction results, the adjustments were recorded in Auction 2014, reflecting marginal shifts compared to the previous issuance.
The central bank also noted strong investor demand, with bids worth billions of cedis submitted across the short-term government securities.
Market observers say the continued appetite for Treasury bills highlights sustained investor confidence in government instruments despite the slight upward movement in yields.
