Razak Kojo Opoku Challenges Bokpe Over GH¢24bn KGL Revenue Claim

Dr Razak Kojo Opoku, has challenged Kwame Kekeli Bokpe over his claim that KGL generated more than GH¢24 billion from its National Lottery Authority (NLA) business in 2024, questioning the accuracy of the figure.

Dr Opoku suggested that the amount cited by Mr Bokpe required clarification, contrasting it with a GH¢3 billion figure in his response to the social media comment.

In a post responding to Mr Bokpe, Dr Opoku questioned how the figure had risen from GH¢3 billion to GH¢24 billion, describing the development as “FALSE.”

“Unless maybe you have doctored your recordings,” he added, while insisting that his side had also recorded every aspect of the interview in question.

The exchange followed a social media post by Mr Bokpe, who said Dr Opoku was present when his team interviewed the KGL Group boss.

According to Mr Bokpe, during the interview, KGL CEO reportedly stated that KGL had generated more than GH¢24 billion from its NLA business in 2024.

Mr Bokpe challenged Dr Opoku to dispute the claim, saying the recording of the interview could be played to establish what was said.

“Challenge us, and we will play the tape from the interview,” Mr Bokpe wrote.

Dr Opoku’s response has introduced a dispute over the figures attributed to the interview, with both sides indicating that recordings could be used to support their respective positions.

After Dr Opoku exposed him and his ‘FALSE ESTATE’ masters, Mr Bokpe quickly amended his comments to “Dear KGL Consultant, Razak Kojo Opoku, first of all, you were present when we interviewed the KGL boss. During the interview, you kept interjecting; your boss told us that in 2024 alone, KGL had over GHC 3 billion from the NLA business.”

Dr Opoku also quickly came in to respond, asking Mr Bokpe to continue editing his figures; from 3 billion to 24 billion and back to 3 billion, all within 2 minutes.

The disagreement comes amid public debate over the NLA–KGL arrangement, including questions about the commercial performance of the partnership and the benefits accruing to the state.

A review of the full interview, alongside the relevant financial records, would be necessary to establish what figure was cited, what it represented and whether the two amounts relate to the same financial measure.
