Agona Swedru is preparing for a busy football weekend as it hosts the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup and the final of the 2025/2026 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
The three-day event, which runs from Friday, April 17 to Sunday, April 19, will bring together some of Ghana’s top men’s and women’s clubs in a packed schedule of high-profile matches.
The action begins on Friday with Aduana FC taking on Nations FC in the first MTN FA Cup semi-final. While Aduana FC will rely on their experience in major competitions, Nations FC will be hoping to secure a place in their first-ever FA Cup final.
On Saturday, Dreams FC face Medeama SC in the second semi-final match. Medeama SC head into the game with a strong FA Cup pedigree, but Dreams FC are expected to provide a stern challenge as they chase another major trophy.
The weekend will conclude on Sunday with the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League final between Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies.
Hasaacas Ladies, who have won the title five times, will be aiming to extend their dominance in the women’s game, while Ampem Darkoa Ladies will be seeking to add another championship to their growing record.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association has announced that all six clubs involved in the weekend fixtures will honour the late Berekum Chelsea player Dominic Frimpong.
Players and officials will wear black armbands during their matches, while a minute’s silence will be observed before kick-off in all three games.
