Akyede Nhyiraba Gifty, the UK-based Ghanaian gospel singer and healthcare assistant currently training to become a nurse, is redefining what it means to lead both at home and in ministry. Speaking on Accra 100.5 FM’s Entertainment Capital with Prince Benjamin (PB), she emphasized that true ministry begins within the walls of one’s home.
A mother of three girls aged 10, 9, and 1.5 years, Akyede Nhyiraba views marriage and parenting as foundational ministries that shape one’s ability to serve effectively in the public sphere. She shared that the daily demands of caring for young children have taught her invaluable lessons in patience and humility — qualities that she believes are essential for anyone engaged in ministry work.
“Children may be young, but they teach us so much about life and service,” she said. “Patience learned at home prepares you to handle discouragement and anger from people outside.”
The singer and philanthropist also spoke against the growing trend of prioritizing professional ambitions over family responsibilities. “Managing our homes excellently is critical because the character we build there reflects in how we interact with others in ministry and society,” she noted.
Akyede Nhyiraba encourages parents and leaders to embody consistency, demonstrating the same values both privately and publicly. “Modeling the right character at home is more impactful than just giving instructions,” she explained, highlighting the role of example in nurturing a child’s faith and values.
In addition to her thoughts on motherhood and ministry, Akyede Nhyiraba recently released her latest single, Enka Ho Da (“It Shall Not Be Permanent”), which continues to inspire hope and resilience among her listeners.
Her story serves as a powerful reminder that the greatest ministry begins at home — where leadership, care, and faith are first cultivated.
