The ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Bono Region is progressing smoothly, with no major disruptions reported so far, according to Mr. Luke Mensah, the Regional Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Education Service (GES).
In a recent statement from Sunyani, Mr. Mensah highlighted the exemplary discipline and conduct displayed by the 24,109 candidates—12,345 girls and 11,774 boys—participating in this year’s exams. He encouraged the students to maintain their focus and continue working independently to ensure personal success.
The candidates come from 805 Junior High Schools across the region, including 243 public and 562 private institutions. They are seated at 84 examination centres, overseen by 95 supervisors and supported by 802 invigilators to maintain the integrity of the examination process.
Mr. Mensah also noted that, as of now, there have been no reports of any nursing mothers, pregnant girls, or persons with disabilities taking the exams, based on monitoring by the Bono Regional Education Directorate.
The GES remains committed to ensuring a fair and smooth BECE process, and Mr. Mensah assured the public that the region will continue to closely monitor the examination until its completion.
