According to him, the event attracted approximately 5,000 participants from various Chokosi/Anufo communities across Ghana, reflecting the growing significance of the awards programme.
Mr. Adams Kwaku Ofori, businessman, philanthropist and sponsor of the event, described the awards as recognition of years of sacrifice, hard work and commitment to the development of the Anufo people.
He said the initiative was not only intended to celebrate success stories but also to create role models whose achievements could inspire younger generations to strive for excellence and contribute meaningfully to society.
“The awards represent a roadmap of success that others can emulate as we continue to build a stronger and more united community,” he indicated.
Beyond the awards presentations, the event showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Chokosi/Anufo people through traditional music and cultural performances by renowned Anufo artistes.
Participants were entertained with vibrant displays that celebrated the history, identity and traditions of the community.
The event was sponsored by Strong Adam Ventures with support from the Ashanti Regional Chokosi/Anufo Chief Palace.
Organisers expressed optimism that the Diaspora Awards would continue to grow into a major platform for recognising excellence, promoting unity and preserving the cultural values of the Chokosi/Anufo people both in Ghana and abroad.
