Ghana’s First Lady, Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama, has highlighted the nation’s dedication to protecting children in digital spaces during her participation in the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit in the United States.
Invited by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, the two-day summit gathers first spouses from around the world to explore strategies for safer and more equitable online environments for children.
In a statement ahead of the summit, Mrs Mahama emphasized the importance of using technology as a tool for empowerment rather than harm, saying:
“Ghana stands ready to ensure technology becomes a force for empowerment, not endangerment, for every child. Our children’s future is our shared moral duty and generational responsibility.”
The summit seeks to foster international cooperation and policy dialogue aimed at safeguarding young internet users while promoting inclusive digital opportunities that support education, creativity, and innovation.
