Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Lilwin has revealed a sudden and unsettling interruption on the set of his highly anticipated Ibrahim Traoré biopic, forcing production to come to a standstill.
The disruption occurred when a group of about ten unidentified young men on motorbikes stormed the filming location, demanding an immediate shutdown. Despite attempts to negotiate, the situation escalated, resulting in damage to costly equipment and property.
The filming site, which incurs rental costs of GHC 15,000 daily, was subsequently abandoned after the landlord, alarmed by the disturbance, ordered the crew to vacate the premises to avoid further trouble.
Adding to the mystery, Lilwin remains unsure of who orchestrated the attack or their motives. However, after reaching out to the Ashanti Regional Minister for assistance, the intruders quickly dispersed.
Despite this unexpected setback, Lilwin is optimistic about the project’s future, revealing that he has already reached the film’s climax and is committed to completing and releasing the biopic.
