Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has dismissed speculations of an ongoing load-shedding exercise, assuring Ghanaians that the government is not rationing power.
Addressing the presidential press corps at Jubilee House on Friday, March 7, following President John Dramani Mahama’s second cabinet meeting, Mr. Jinapor clarified that recent power disruptions are due to technical issues and maintenance, not a systematic load management plan.
“I want to categorically state that the government is not undertaking any load shedding. Any interruptions in power supply are purely due to isolated faults and routine maintenance, not a deliberate rationing programme,” he emphasized.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the country’s power infrastructure and ensuring a reliable energy supply for both households and businesses.
“Our priority is to enhance efficiency and sustainability in the energy sector. We are working tirelessly to guarantee uninterrupted electricity for all,” Mr. Jinapor assured.
He urged Ghanaians to report any persistent power issues to the appropriate authorities for swift resolution and cautioned against misinformation regarding the country’s energy situation.
The minister reiterated that the government remains focused on implementing long-term policies to ensure stable and affordable electricity nationwide.
