The Ghana Police Service has arrested three individuals in connection with a murder and assault incident that occurred at Gbiniyiri in the Savannah Region.
The suspects—Yaw Bamuah, Yaa Bokaa and Kuma Simpor—were arrested on March 14, 2026, by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Intelligence Team working in collaboration with the Savannah Regional Police Command.
According to police investigations, the attack is believed to have been carried out as retaliation for the killing of a relative of the suspects, who they alleged had been assaulted by robbers suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
During interrogation, Yaw Bamuah reportedly admitted to taking part in the attack and mentioned several other individuals believed to have been involved. The named suspects—Anuda Borour, Pobiye, Bitunor Sansa and James Sanyuah—are currently being pursued by the police.
Following his confession, Bamuah led investigators to his residence at Gbiniyiri where officers recovered a single-barrel shotgun with serial number BAT 2598-88 and two live AAA cartridges concealed on the property.
Police say the three suspects are currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations into the incident.
Authorities have indicated that the suspects will soon be put before court, while efforts continue to locate and arrest the remaining individuals linked to the attack.
