In a chilling turn of events, the Tema Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals after one of them was allegedly caught carrying a severed human head within the Tema Harbour enclave.
The incident, which unfolded on Friday, May 30, 2025, began with a distress call reporting the discovery of a lifeless male body in the harbour area. As officers examined the crime scene, a second, more disturbing report emerged: a man had been apprehended by members of the public while attempting to flee with what appeared to be a human head.
Police swiftly responded to the tip-off and rescued the suspect, identified as Ali Mustapha, from the scene. He was immediately taken into custody for questioning.
Further investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect, Zakaria Mohammed, believed to be connected to the same incident.
The body of the unidentified victim has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. Authorities are working to confirm the identity of the deceased and determine the motive behind the gruesome crime.
Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue into what is being described as one of the most disturbing murder cases in the region’s recent memory.
