Students of two senior high schools in the Adaklu District have received a boost after Governs Kwame Agbodza, the Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Adaklu, donated food items worth about GH¢40,000 to support their feeding programmes.
The donation, presented on the Minister’s behalf by Jerry Yao Ameko, included 50 bags of sugar, 50 cartons of tea bags and 126 cartons of milk for distribution to Adaklu Senior High School and Gbekor Senior High School.
Presenting the items, Mr Ameko urged students to remain committed to their education, describing them as the future leaders of Ghana. He said the government’s continued investment in education reflected its determination to equip young people with the knowledge and skills needed for national development.
He also encouraged students to uphold discipline and good character, stressing that success depends not only on academic performance but also on personal conduct and integrity.
The District Chief Executive noted that Adaklu’s future prosperity would largely depend on the quality of its human resources, as the district does not possess significant mineral resources. He therefore appealed to parents and guardians to continue prioritising their children’s education.
The headmasters of the two beneficiary schools, Bright Agbesi Akatsi and Louis Antonio, expressed appreciation to Mr Agbodza for the donation, describing his continued support for education in the constituency as commendable.
They assured the Minister that the items would be used for their intended purpose to improve students’ welfare.
The presentation was attended by executives of the National Democratic Congress in the Adaklu Constituency, who accompanied the District Chief Executive.
