The RNAQ Foundation, founded by Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist Richard Nii Ama Quaye, has launched the Ga-Dagme Youth Scholarship to provide educational support to brilliant but needy young people from the Ga-Dagme community.
The initiative was unveiled on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, as part of efforts to promote education and collective development within the community.
Held under the theme, “One Ga-Dagme, One Heart, Rising Together,” the launch brought together traditional leaders, musicians and other prominent personalities who rallied support for the educational initiative.
Richard Nii Ama Quaye said the scholarship formed part of the RNAQ Foundation’s broader philanthropic efforts to create opportunities for young people and contribute to educational development in the Ga-Dagme community.
Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale was among the notable personalities at the event, arriving with fellow musician Medikal and publicly expressing support for the scholarship programme.
In a post on X, Shatta Wale called for broader backing for the initiative, stating: “There should be a great support for the educational initiative.”
He also delivered a speech at the launch, commending the effort to create educational opportunities for young people who could otherwise face difficulties in continuing their education.
The presence of Shatta Wale, Medikal, Cina Soul and TINny, alongside traditional leaders, added prominence to the launch and reinforced the call for community support for the programme.
As part of the event, the RNAQ Food Bank also collaborated with Shatta Wale’s team to provide meals for more than 10,000 fans who attended the gathering.
The scholarship initiative is expected to support students from the Ga-Dagme community who demonstrate academic potential but require financial assistance to pursue their education.
The launch therefore marked another step in the RNAQ Foundation’s efforts to combine philanthropy with youth development, with education placed at the centre of its support for the Ga-Dagme community.
