Star Oil Ltd says it is committed to supporting victims and families affected by the August 14 Bulk Road Vehicle accident at Asukawkaw in the Oti Region, which left four people dead and 14 others injured.
The company announced that, in addition to cooperating with police investigations, it has begun its own internal probe to determine what led to the tragedy. Eyewitnesses say the vehicle’s driver appeared to lose control before ploughing into a busy market, sending traders and shoppers scrambling for safety.
In a statement, management said its priority now is to stand with the community during this difficult time.
“We are working closely with emergency services and local authorities to provide all necessary assistance to the bereaved families and those receiving medical care,” the statement read.
Star Oil also conveyed its “deepest condolences” to the grieving families and extended well wishes for the injured to make a full recovery.
The company emphasised that its internal findings, together with the police report, will guide measures to improve safety and prevent such tragedies in the future.
