As excitement builds for the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), headline sponsor Telecel Ghana is leading the charge in revolutionizing fan engagement through technology — offering a digital-first approach that empowers fans to connect, vote, and win in real time.
With voting officially underway, Telecel has unveiled an innovative twist: TGMA Data Bundles — uniquely customized internet packages branded after nominees in three top categories: Artiste of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, and Afrobeats Song of the Year.
By simply purchasing a data bundle tied to a favourite nominee using short codes 1767 or 700, fans can instantly cast a vote — a first-of-its-kind move that combines mobile data usage with direct participation in Ghana’s biggest music celebration.
“We wanted to take fan engagement to a new level,” said Aneth Muga, Acting Director of Consumer Business at Telecel Ghana. “This isn’t just about watching the awards — it’s about letting fans actively shape the outcome while being rewarded.”
Fan Engagement Goes Beyond Voting
In addition to the voting bundles, Telecel has rolled out interactive tools designed to deepen artist-fan connections. The TGMA Special Shout-Outs allows fans to send personal video messages (5–10 seconds) to their favourite artists via the Telecel Play App — all for just GH¢5, with 100 free on-net call minutes as a bonus.
“It’s a way for fans to say thank you directly — not just with votes, but with heartfelt appreciation,” Muga added.
Meanwhile, the popular Shake, Spin and Win feature on the Telecel Play App is also back, giving users the chance to win prizes ranging from smartphones and appliances to food and cinema vouchers.
Beyond the Stage: Music for Social Change
Reaffirming its commitment to impact, Telecel is also renewing its sponsorship of the Music for Good Award — a special category that recognizes artistes using music to drive meaningful social change. The winner will take home a GH¢20,000 prize to support their community project, in addition to the prestigious TGMA plaque.
As the countdown continues to the grand awards night on Saturday, May 10, 2025, Telecel is not just supporting music — it’s reshaping how fans experience, influence, and celebrate it.
