In a world increasingly filled with distractions, Jehovah’s Witnesses are calling for a return to spiritual focus and scriptural integrity through their 2025 annual convention series, themed “Pure Worship.”
Running from June to October across more than 200 locations in Ghana and thousands worldwide, the global campaign is not just a religious gathering — it is a spiritual recalibration effort that seeks to inspire millions to re-evaluate their relationship with God and pursue worship that is truthful, sincere, and untainted by external influences.
At the Asokore Mampong Convention Centre, the impact of this call is visible. Every weekend, thousands of participants gather in peaceful reflection, engaging in a rich programme of Bible-based teachings, symposia, dramatizations, and multimedia presentations—all aimed at helping individuals understand what it means to worship God “with spirit and truth.”
A Call to Spiritual Authenticity
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Joel Grim, a representative from the Teshie Nungua Branch Office of Jehovah’s Witnesses, explained that the “Pure Worship” theme responds to growing concerns about diluted or distracted religious devotion in today’s society.
“This convention is about returning to the essence of what God, Jehovah, truly requires from us,” Mr. Grim stated. “It’s not just about worship in name, but worship in substance—sincere, wholehearted, and in harmony with the scriptures.”
He referenced John 4:24, where Jesus taught that “God is a Spirit, and those worshipping Him must worship with spirit and truth,” emphasizing that modern worship should reflect the teachings and example of Jesus Christ.
A Convention for the Whole Family — and the Public
One distinctive feature of the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ convention is its inclusivity. Open to the public and entirely free of charge, the event extends a warm invitation to families, friends, and curious observers from all walks of life. No collections are taken, removing financial barriers and placing focus solely on spiritual enrichment.
Attendees can expect daily sessions from Friday through Sunday that mix practical life lessons with deep scriptural exploration. A highlight of the programme includes full-length Bible dramas, which bring biblical accounts to life in ways that are both educational and emotionally resonant.
Global Movement, Local Impact
The 2025 convention is not just about Ghana — it is part of a coordinated international effort by Jehovah’s Witnesses to unify their global membership under a common spiritual mission. Whether in Accra, New York, or Tokyo, the same message is being delivered: purity in worship is essential to a meaningful relationship with God.
Locally, convention venues like the one in Asokore Mampong are seeing strong participation, with volunteers ensuring that everything from logistics to hospitality runs smoothly. These gatherings also strengthen community bonds and provide a space for moral and ethical reflection in a time of increasing global uncertainty.
As millions continue to attend the 2025 “Pure Worship” conventions, the message is clear: in a world of shifting values, Jehovah’s Witnesses are offering a grounding alternative—one rooted in scripture, sincerity, and spiritual clarity.
