Mother of award-winning musician Wendy Shay has spoken out in defense of her daughter’s stage image, stressing that her performance outfits should not be misunderstood or imitated recklessly by young admirers.
She explained that stagecraft often requires bold fashion choices, but these do not define Wendy Shay’s true character.
“My daughter is not into nudity. She wears what she wears on stage because the craft demands it,” she clarified. “Off the stage, she is a very decent girl. That is the Wendy Shay young ladies should learn from.”
According to her, many youths risk making wrong choices by copying celebrity lifestyles without understanding the context, and she urged them to focus instead on discipline, humility, and the values her daughter upholds in private life.
She also expressed pride in Wendy Shay’s journey, noting that the singer has achieved her dream and carved a respected place in Ghana’s music industry.
For her, the real lesson from Wendy Shay’s story is not about clothes or appearance but about determination and professionalism.
