The management of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, has issued a strongly worded statement condemning comments attributed to lawyer and media personality Miss Serwaa Amihere Esq., in which she allegedly described the school as “a breeding ground for homosexuals.”
In a press release dated January 17, 2026, PRESEC management described the remark as “false, reckless, and deeply offensive,” stressing that it amounts to an irresponsible generalisation that unfairly maligns students and undermines the integrity and reputation of the institution.
According to the school authorities, the statement seeks to attach an unwarranted stigma to PRESEC, an institution they say has, for over eight decades, stood for discipline, academic excellence, leadership, and moral formation.
“Any assertion to the contrary is a gross misrepresentation of who we are and what we stand for,” the statement said.
PRESEC emphasised that it is a Presbyterian mission institution founded and governed on firm Christian values and operates in accordance with the doctrines of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Management noted that the school’s long-standing commitment to character development, discipline, and moral upbringing of young men cannot be dismissed by what it described as defamatory narratives.
The statement further highlighted the school’s academic pedigree, citing its consistent recognition as one of Ghana’s leading secondary institutions and its repeated successes at the National Science and Maths Quiz as evidence of a culture rooted in intellectual rigour, teamwork, discipline, confidence, and responsible leadership.
Management warned that comments of such nature are not only inaccurate but harmful, as they expose students to ridicule, prejudice, and emotional harm while attempting to erode the school’s hard-earned reputation and contribution to national development.
“PRESEC will not accept or normalise such characterisations,” the statement asserted.
The school expressed appreciation to parents, alumni, students, and the general public for their continued confidence and support, assuring stakeholders that PRESEC remains resolute in upholding its values, protecting the dignity of its students, and maintaining the high standards for which it is known.
PRESEC concluded by reaffirming its core mandate of delivering quality education, enforcing discipline, shaping character, and preparing young men to become principled leaders and responsible citizens.
The statement was signed by Management of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, Legon.
