Tensions continue to rise in African football after the Confederation of African Football stripped Senegal of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title following their players’ walk-off during the January final against Morocco over a last-minute penalty.
The controversial decision awarded Morocco a 3-0 victory after an appeal by the Moroccan Football Association, prompting criticism from senior CAF executive and former head of the Senegalese Football Federation, Augustin Senghor.
Senghor labelled the ruling “abject” and in violation of both CAF regulations and FIFA’s laws of the game, urging it to be denounced.
Senghor expressed confidence that Senegal would successfully challenge the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport
