The BA United Football Club has officially been handed back to the Sunyani Traditional Stool, marking a symbolic return to its roots as efforts intensify to revive the club’s fortunes.
The decision was announced during a courtesy visit to Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, where club officials formally presented the 2026 Brong-Ahafo Regional Football Association Division Two League trophy.
Club Chairman Joe Boahen said the move reflects the club’s historical and cultural ties to the traditional authority, expressing optimism that the transition would strengthen unity and support for the team’s long-term development.
The return of ownership is expected to reposition the club as a community-driven institution, with renewed backing from traditional leaders and local stakeholders.
Former Chairman Ransford Antwi urged players to remain disciplined and committed, stressing that their dedication would be key to restoring the club’s competitive edge.
Receiving the team, Odeefour Korkor II pledged his full support to rebuild BA United into a formidable force, highlighting the role of football in promoting unity and stimulating local economic growth.
He called for stronger fan engagement and collective responsibility in reviving the club’s legacy, noting that a return to the Premier League would not only uplift the team but also benefit the wider Sunyani community.
The Paramount Chief further encouraged management to address operational challenges and nurture talent, while urging players to remain focused and uphold the club’s values as they pursue greater success.
