Christians have been encouraged to recognise and actively utilise their spiritual gifts as part of fulfilling their purpose in Christ, during the 2026 Easter Convention of the Great Commission Church International in the Greater Accra Region.
Delivering a message at the convention held at Frafraha near Accra, Reverend Dr Samuel Arthur, Director of Evangelism of the church, emphasised that every believer has a unique divine assignment backed by God.
He explained that while all Christians share a general calling to salvation, each individual also has a specific calling that requires dedication and commitment to fulfil.
According to him, God does not call people without equipping them, noting that believers are empowered with spiritual gifts to help them carry out their responsibilities effectively.
“Callings come from God, not from ourselves. When God calls, He provides the grace and gifts needed to accomplish that purpose,” he stated.
Rev. Dr Arthur highlighted the role of the Holy Spirit as the foundation of every Christian’s spiritual journey, describing it as the first and most important gift given to believers.
He noted that through the Holy Spirit, Christians receive various gifts—including wisdom, faith, healing, prophecy, and discernment—which are meant to build and strengthen the church.
He, therefore, urged Christians to move beyond passive faith and actively apply their gifts in service to others, stressing that true fulfilment comes from living out one’s calling in holiness and devotion.
