Construction work on several long-delayed infrastructure projects across the Ahafo Region has seen renewed activity following an inspection tour by the Regional Minister, Mrs Charity Gardener, in the Asunafo North Municipality.
The visit, carried out with the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Joseph Akparibo, covered multiple ongoing and revived projects including the Goaso Market, the Municipal Assembly office complex, and the King Faisal Kindergarten block in Goaso.
Other facilities under construction or rehabilitation include sanitation and education projects such as a girls’ toilet facility at Mim Senior High School, a 12-unit classroom block at Mpomaze Anglican School, and community health and education infrastructure like the Fiako CHPS compound and classroom blocks at Abeberese and Bobkrom Islamic School.
According to the Regional Minister, government efforts are focused on ensuring that previously stalled infrastructure projects are completed, with priority given to education, health, sanitation, agriculture, and roads to improve living conditions in the municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive added that work has resumed on 27 previously abandoned projects in the area, with nine already completed and set for commissioning. He also credited central government support for accelerating development efforts across the municipality.
