A disagreement over the disciplining of a child has reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation, leaving a woman in her 40s with a severe injury to her ear at Fufuo in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The victim, identified as Yaa Achiaa, is said to have been involved in a confrontation with her landlord’s wife, identified only as Afia, after the latter allegedly intervened while Achiaa was correcting her daughter.
According to accounts from Achiaa and her family, the incident occurred on Thursday, September 3, when the mother was disciplining her daughter over alleged misconduct.
Afia reportedly intervened and encouraged the child to resist her mother’s actions, prompting Achiaa to question why she was interfering in the matter.
The disagreement subsequently escalated from a verbal exchange into a physical fight between the two women.
During the confrontation, Afia is alleged to have bitten Achiaa on the ear, inflicting a serious wound that reportedly resulted in heavy bleeding.
Residents who witnessed the incident are said to have intervened to separate the women and assisted Achiaa in accessing first aid.
The incident has since drawn attention in the community, with the circumstances surrounding the confrontation expected to be subject to further investigation.
The allegations against Afia have not been independently verified.
It was not immediately clear whether Achiaa or her family had lodged a formal complaint with the police or whether any arrest had been made in connection with the incident.
