Energy professional Ebenezer Adjetey Sowah has assumed leadership of Genkas Energy Ltd as Managing Director, with effect from September 30, 2026, bringing experience in petroleum distribution, commercial operations and business management to the company.
His appointment is expected to support the company’s operational management and business development as it pursues opportunities across the oil and gas industry and the renewable energy sector.
Mr Adjetey Sowah previously served as Dealer Cluster Manager at Vivo Energy Ghana, where he gained experience in dealer network management, commercial performance and stakeholder relations.
He is also a member of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers, reflecting his professional affiliation with the petroleum industry.
His academic and professional background includes studies in Aircraft Load Controlling at Emirates Aviation College, alongside expertise in business intelligence analysis and health, safety and environmental management.
As Managing Director, he will oversee Genkas Energy’s day-to-day operations, including oil and gas importation and distribution, financial management, staff supervision and regulatory compliance.
His responsibilities will also cover identifying business opportunities, strengthening relationships with customers and suppliers, and reporting to the Board on the company’s operational and financial performance.
Mr Adjetey Sowah is expected to translate the company’s strategic objectives into measurable business outcomes, with emphasis on operational efficiency, accountability, safety and compliance with applicable industry requirements.
Commenting on his appointment, he said his priorities would include improving operational performance, strengthening business relationships and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.

He added that effective leadership required accountability, continuous improvement and practical industry knowledge to deliver lasting business results.
Under the company’s governance arrangements, the Managing Director will report to the Board through its Chairman, with his authority guided by the powers delegated to him.
The appointment was confirmed by the Board of Directors, with Board Chairman George N. Owodo and Board Secretary Anette Adjavon signing the appointment letter on behalf of the company.
