As the high-profile federal trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs unfolds in Brooklyn, former Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day has stepped forward — not to take the stand, but to clarify her role amid swirling speculation.
Appearing on the premiere episode of the new iHeartRadio podcast Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Present: Aubrey O’Day – Covering the Diddy Trial, the 41-year-old artist dismissed widespread rumors that she had been subpoenaed to testify.
“No, I’m not here to testify for the Diddy trial, that I know of,” O’Day told hosts T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach. “I posted on my Instagram that I was here in New York and enjoying myself because I wanted to make it clear to everyone that I am not here testifying.”
The confusion was sparked by a cryptic Instagram post from O’Day on May 14, where she shared a video of herself in New York City with a caption that included a justice scale emoji — a symbol often associated with legal matters. Fans and media quickly connected the dots, linking her post to the ongoing trial of her former mentor and Making the Band creator, Sean Combs.
O’Day acknowledged that she had been in contact with Homeland Security, saying, “I did have a meeting with Homeland Security,” but emphasized that she was not called as a witness by either the prosecution or the defense.
Her comments arrive at a tense moment in the federal trial, where Combs faces serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. He has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.
While O’Day’s name has circulated in media discussions around the broader allegations against Combs, she has now drawn a clear line, opting instead to use her platform for commentary rather than courtroom testimony.
The trial, already drawing intense media scrutiny, continues to feature high-stakes testimonies — including explosive details from Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, whose earlier civil lawsuit helped spark the current federal case.
As for O’Day, she remains outside the witness box — but firmly within the public conversation.
