The memory of late Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo continues to influence the lives of her colleagues, with actress Vicky Zugah revealing how her late friend’s encouragement has inspired her to pursue a new chapter in her career.
Zugah shared the emotional revelation on social media ahead of Afaglo’s final funeral rites, recalling a conversation in which the late actress encouraged her to start a podcast.
According to Zugah, she acted on the advice and had already acquired a microphone to begin the project, making the achievement particularly emotional as she prepares to bid farewell to her friend.
“You told me to start a podcast. I got the microphone, sis. I got it!” she wrote.
The actress described the impending farewell as one she had never expected to face so soon, reflecting on the friendship and memories she shared with Afaglo.
“So we say final goodbye to you tomorrow? Beverly? This wasn’t the plan, norvi!” Zugah wrote in an emotional tribute.
She also revealed how deeply she continues to feel Afaglo’s absence, saying thoughts of her late colleague remain part of her daily life.
“I think about you every day. I miss you. I hope you are finally free from pain, Bev. I really hope so,” she added.
For Zugah, the podcast advice has become more than a suggestion about a career project. It represents a lasting reminder of Afaglo’s influence and the encouragement she offered to people around her.
Afaglo’s death has generated an outpouring of tributes from Ghana’s entertainment industry, with colleagues remembering her for her acting talent, warmth and supportive relationship with fellow creatives.
Many within the Ghanaian film industry have described her as a colleague who formed strong personal bonds and offered encouragement to others during her career.
Her final funeral rites are expected to bring together family, friends, colleagues and fans to honour her life and contribution to Ghana’s creative arts industry.
The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra.
Ahead of the ceremony, friends of Afaglo’s husband, Ghanaian musician Choirmaster, also gathered at the airport in matching black T-shirts bearing the late actress’s image to welcome him back to Ghana.
Fellow Praye member Praye Tiatia was among those who joined the group as Choirmaster returned to the country ahead of the burial.
As the entertainment community prepares to say its final goodbye, Zugah’s tribute offers another glimpse into Afaglo’s personal impact — not only through her work on screen, but also through the encouragement she gave to those around her.
