The Bono East Regional Minister, Mr Francis Owusu Antwi, has inaugurated Spatial Committees for all 11 Municipal and District Assemblies in the region as part of efforts to improve coordinated land use and development planning.
The committees are expected to play a key role in guiding how land is allocated and used across the various assemblies, ensuring orderly development and reducing unplanned growth.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Techiman, Mr Antwi said effective spatial planning was critical to sustainable development and urged the committees to harmonise planning processes across the region.
He charged members to discharge their duties with integrity, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility, stressing that their work would directly influence the future development of local communities.
Mr Antwi further encouraged the committees to be development-focused and selfless in their service, adding that he had confidence in their ability to help shape well-structured communities across Bono East.
The ceremony brought together heads of departments and agencies, coordinating directors, security services, civil society organisations and traditional authorities.
