A Presidential candidate hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bryan Acheampong, has called on members of the governing party to rally behind a shared vision of unity and discipline as the party prepares for its upcoming National Conference scheduled for Friday, July 19.
Reflecting on the outcome of the NPP’s National Council meeting held yesterday, Acheampong described the gathering as “fruitful and forward-looking,” noting that it set the stage for what is expected to be a critical moment in the party’s internal democratic processes.
“As we prepare for a successful National Conference on July 19th, our focus remains clear: engaging our party base with purpose, passion, and respect ahead of the presidential primaries,” he said in a statement posted to his official social media platforms.
With tension and competition heating up in the run-up to the primaries, Acheampong appealed to party members and aspirants alike to resist divisive conduct. He emphasized the importance of unity and discipline, urging the rank and file to renew their dedication to the party’s founding values.
“Let us resist actions that divide and renew our commitment to unity, discipline, and the collective vision that binds us. Our strength lies in staying together and stepping forward as one,” he added, concluding his message with a patriotic call to national service.
The July 19 National Conference is expected to finalize arrangements for the NPP’s flagbearer contest and address key organizational matters ahead of the 2026 general elections. Party insiders say the event will be closely watched for signs of emerging alliances and internal dynamics.
Acheampong’s comments appear to signal a broader push from party leadership to maintain cohesion in what may become a highly competitive primary race.
