A 40-year-old man accused of assaulting a woman in a widely circulated viral video has been granted bail by the Cape Coast Circuit Court as legal proceedings commence.
The accused, Samuel Bills Acquah, appeared before the court on Monday, where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing unlawful harm.
Presiding judge, Cephas Kwame Ayidzoa, granted him bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties. He is expected to reappear in court on April 10, 2026.
The case stems from an incident in Cape Coast, where the accused was arrested by police following reports of a violent altercation involving a 30-year-old woman believed to be his partner.
The arrest came after a disturbing video circulated widely online, prompting public concern and swift police action.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as the court process unfolds.
