Nigerian content creator Gray Africana has revealed that the public release of private content without her consent played a major role in her eventual entry into the adult content industry.
Speaking on The Podcast Network, she said becoming an adult content creator was not a career path she had initially chosen for herself.
Gray Africana said she first created private content without showing her face and believed she was dealing with someone she could trust.
However, she said her situation changed after a friend introduced her to a client arrangement, which eventually led to the content being shared publicly without her control.
“I never wished, I never wanted to do porn,” she said.
The creator said she was 17 at the time and did not expect the person she trusted to take such action.
According to her, the content quickly spread and reached members of her family, creating serious problems in her personal life.
“After that time, my video was everywhere. Everybody saw it. It got to my auntie, it got to my family,” she said.
She added that the incident also forced her to leave Lagos temporarily as she dealt with the consequences of the content becoming public.
Gray Africana explained that she later continued in the adult content industry after the incident had already significantly altered her circumstances.
“That’s how I started doing porn. It’s not that I decided from my own mind that I wanted to do it,” she said.
She said she now hopes to use her platform to speak more openly about the realities of the adult content industry and educate people about experiences that often remain hidden from public view.
