The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Madam Efua Houadjeto, is set to represent Ghana at the 2026 Hotel Managers Conference Africa (HMCA), where she will join hospitality leaders from across the continent to discuss the future of Africa’s tourism and hotel industry.
The conference, scheduled for July 11–12 at the Lagos Continental Hotel in Victoria Island, Nigeria, will convene hotel owners, tourism policymakers, investors, hospitality executives, technology providers and industry experts to explore strategies for strengthening Africa’s hospitality sector.
Madam Houadjeto is expected to deliver an address as Guest of Honour, highlighting Ghana’s growing role in promoting tourism development and regional collaboration within the hospitality industry.
According to the Convener of HMCA, Mr Olugbenga Sunday, the participation of the GTA CEO reflects the strengthening partnership among African tourism institutions and underscores the conference’s position as a leading platform for hospitality leadership and innovation.
He described Madam Houadjeto as an experienced tourism professional whose background in hospitality management, travel and tour operations, event planning and real estate development would add significant value to discussions at the conference.
Mr Sunday said her presence would inspire industry stakeholders while promoting dialogue on sustainable tourism growth, innovation and investment opportunities across Africa.
The two-day conference will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, executive masterclasses, networking sessions, technology exhibitions, business-to-business engagements and leadership development programmes aimed at improving hotel management standards across the continent.
Organisers expect participants from several African countries to use the platform to exchange ideas, forge strategic partnerships and identify new opportunities to drive the growth and competitiveness of Africa’s hospitality and tourism industries.
