Ghanaian singer Gyakie has reached a major streaming milestone as the remix of her hit song “Forever” featuring Nigerian artist Omah Lay surpasses 100 million views on YouTube as of May 24, 2026.
Released on March 18, 2021, the video has grown into one of her most successful international records, helping solidify her presence on the global Afrobeats scene.
The collaboration blends Gyakie’s smooth Afrobeats and soulful style with Omah Lay’s distinct vocals, and previously topped Nigeria’s TurnTable charts, further boosting its cross-border appeal.
The song’s long-term success has been driven by consistent streaming, social media virality across platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels, and its frequent inclusion in global playlists.
The milestone places the record among YouTube’s high-performing African music releases and is expected to contribute significantly to its streaming revenue and catalog performance.
Gyakie first gained widespread attention with her 2020 EP “Seed”, led by the original version of “Forever”, which laid the foundation for her rise in the African music industry.
The remix with Omah Lay further elevated her profile, making her one of Ghana’s most recognised contemporary female voices across Afrobeats, R&B and soul-inspired music.
Her earlier works, including “Sor Mi Mu” featuring Bisa Kdei, “Whine”, and “Love Is Pretty”, have also contributed to her growing fan base across Africa and beyond.
Gyakie has previously described her debut project “After Midnight” as a deeply personal body of work reflecting her identity, growth, and connection to her Ghanaian roots.
