Madam Helen Adwoa Ntoso, Member of Parliament for the Krachi West Constituency, has inaugurated a new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound in Kadentwe, aimed at expanding access to primary healthcare for residents in the area and neighboring communities.
The facility is designed to reduce travel burdens for patients who previously had to visit larger hospitals for basic medical care. Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Ms Ntoso highlighted the role of the CHPS compound in strengthening local healthcare delivery and easing the workload of the Krachi West Municipal Government Hospital.
She urged community members to take ownership of the facility to ensure its sustainability and long-term impact. “This CHPS compound is for the people of Kadentwe. I urge the community to maintain it and ensure it serves its intended purpose for many years,” she stated.
Traditional leaders, including Nana Bagyilenteki Akenten II, Queen Mother of Kadentwe, and Nana Kwame Afatwuor II, welcomed the development, noting that it would enhance maternal health services and support the prevention and treatment of common diseases.
The commissioning of the Kadentwe CHPS compound reinforces ongoing efforts to strengthen rural healthcare infrastructure in Krachi West, ensuring residents have timely access to essential medical services.
