The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has intensified its emergency response efforts in the Afadzato South District of the Volta Region following recent disasters that displaced several households.
The intervention comes in the wake of a rainstorm that caused significant destruction in Toganū, as well as a separate domestic fire outbreak at Leklebi Dafor.
In response, NADMO officials swiftly assessed the damage and provided relief items to affected families to support immediate recovery and reduce the impact of the disasters.
The items distributed included roofing sheets and materials for rebuilding damaged homes, as well as food supplies such as rice, maize, and cooking oil to meet the basic needs of victims.
District Director of NADMO, Maxwell Worlanyo Korkutse, assured residents that the organisation remains committed to rapid response and continuous support in times of crisis.
He emphasised the importance of timely intervention in helping affected households stabilise their conditions and begin the process of rebuilding their lives.
The affected residents welcomed the assistance, describing it as crucial in helping them cope with the aftermath of the disasters.
The intervention highlights ongoing efforts by NADMO to strengthen disaster response systems and provide relief to vulnerable communities facing climate-related and domestic emergencies.
