An aide to Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng, Founder and General Overseer of Power Chapel Worldwide and VKB Ministries, has refuted claims circulating in the media that the renowned preacher has been detained by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB).
According to the aide, while Prophet Kusi Boateng did honor an invitation from the NIB on Thursday, March 13, 2025, he was not detained but rather engaged in what was described as a cordial and professional interrogation before being allowed to return home the same day.
“The Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng is home. He was invited by the BNI yesterday. He went to answer his questions and then went peacefully to his home the same day. It was a very decent interrogation. He’s safe and sound,” the aide clarified in a Facebook post.
Despite this clarification, reports had been widely circulated on social media and various news platforms, suggesting that the Ghanaian theologian, philanthropist, motivational speaker, and Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees was in custody.
It is believed that Prophet Kusi Boateng’s invitation was related to allegations of possessing multiple identities, a controversy that first surfaced in 2023 following an exposé by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the North Tongu MP and current Foreign Affairs Minister.
While the details of his interrogation remain undisclosed, the latest development has reignited discussions about identity concerns, governance transparency, and accountability within religious and political circles in Ghana.
For now, Prophet Kusi Boateng remains a free man, and his team has assured the public of his well-being and cooperation with the authorities.
