RETRACTION AND APOLOGY
Management of NEWSGHANA writes to formally and unreservedly retract a news story published from a press statement issued on Friday, 23rd May 2025, titled “Restoring Peace, Law and Tradition in Aowin”, which contained statements that referenced Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III, particularly regarding his installation, public service, and conduct in office.
Upon further review and in light of information presented, management acknowledge that portions of the earlier communication may have contained inaccuracies and assertions that were not independently verified.
These may have inadvertently cast aspersions on Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III’s character and questioned the legitimacy of his position; an outcome we deeply regret.
We hereby offer a public and unconditional apology to you, Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuiem III, for any reputational harm, distress, or misrepresentation caused by our publication.
It was never my intention to malign his name or impugn his integrity, and we acknowledge the hurt such a statement could have caused him, his family, and the Aowin Traditional Council.
Furthermore, we confirm that we have commenced the immediate removal of the said statement and all related content from all digital platforms under our control.
We remain respectful of the authority of the Aowin Traditional Area and reaffirm our commitment to promoting peace, mutual respect, and factual accuracy in all future communications.
