At the launch of the 25th Anniversary celebrations of Fruitful Ministries International Incorporated (Northern Zone) in Kumasi, the Senior Pastor of House of Faith Ministries, Reverend Alfred Nyamekye, called for the institutionalization of monthly post-marital counselling to strengthen Christian marriages and reduce the alarming rate of divorces.
Rev. Nyamekye lamented that premarital counselling was often rushed, leaving many couples ill-prepared for the realities of marriage.
“True character often emerges after the wedding,” he noted, “and without Christ-centered guidance, many couples struggle to adapt.”
He stressed that surrendering to Christ was the key to understanding the divine foundation of marriage and family life, proposing regular counselling sessions to reinforce these principles over time.
According to Rev. Nyamekye, marriage experts widely regard the first seven years as a critical “adjustment period,” during which most lifelong cracks in relationships form—even if couples remain together for decades afterward.
The event also highlighted the impact of Fruitful Ministries International, a non-denominational organization founded by Reverend Dr. Samuel Kisseadoo in 2001, dedicated to nurturing healthy marriages and strong family bonds across Ghana.
Professor Joseph Lamptey, Patron of the Ministry, recounted its growth and influence, while Reverend Christian Danso, the Country Director, outlined a year-long slate of anniversary activities, including a national delegates’ conference, health screenings, evangelism outreach, and donations to orphanages.
Testimonies from transformed beneficiaries such as Dr. Salma Sando and Evangelist Mrs. Patience Wilberforce affirmed the Ministry’s crucial role in shaping stable Christian families.
